Iveniz Texel RS2 glorious NMK champion three-year-old dressage mares

Iveniz Texel RS2 (Negro x Krack C), sold at Foal Auction Prinsjesdag, has been declared champion of the three-year-old dressage mares at the National Mare Inspection in Ermelo. Wim van der Linde's breeding product convinced on all fronts and was allowed to take the championship ribbon. Robin van Lierop and Seth Bosman of the RS2 Dressage Center are the proud owners of Iveniz Texel RS2.

“This mare has a very sharp conformation and fantastic movement. She excels with her natural carriage, imprint and extra self-carriage. A true champion!”, jury chairman Marian Dorresteijn praised the Negro daughter Iveniz Texel RS2. As a foal in 2013, the Negro daughter was already one of the most striking foals in the collection of Foal Auction Prinsjesdag.

Foal Auction Prinsjesdag congratulates breeder Wim van der Linde and owners Robin van Lierop and Seth Bosman on this wonderful success!

Emerald embryo from Tequila van Spieveld sold to Monaco

The exceptional embryo of Harrie Smolders' Olympian Emerald out of the top mare Tequila van Spieveld has been sold via Embryoauction.com to Team VDW Monte Carlo from Monaco. The half-sibling of, among others, Echo van 't Spieveld was turned down online for a nice amount of 17,000 euros.

Basson van der Westhuizen is the proud new owner of the embryo. “We are very excited about this purchase. It's a long-term investment, but we hope it pays off in the end. It would be wonderful if this embryo becomes as good as the siblings!”

The South African who lives in Monaco is also a breeder of sport horses. “In Argentina we have a breeding farm for warmbloods, but because the import legislation is quite strict there, you are limited with your breeding choices. That is why we now want to set up more breeding in Europe.” The ultimate goal with this exclusive embryo is the sport. “If all goes well, we hope that this Embro will grow into a good sport horse. In any case, we leave him or her in professional hands in Belgium or France," emphasizes Basson van der Westhuizen.

Hernandez TN and Zoï Snels spectacular third in Isah Cup for four-year-olds

Hernandez TN (Kannan x Numero Uno), who was sold at Foal Auction Prinsjesdag, finished third today under Zoï Snels in the Isah Cup for four-year-olds in Ermelo. The KWPN-approved stallion from the breeding of Prinsjesdag board member Willem Dekker jumped for a 9.0 and earned an 8.2 for going between the hurdles.

“Hernandez is just a machine! He jumped really spectacular today and impresses with his scope and caution”, rider Zoï Snels of Team Nijhof was enthusiastic. Jury members Henk van den Broek and Christian Sorensen were also full of praise: "Hernandez has a lot of scope and jumped impressively today."

Another great success for the stallion of Team Nijhof who was auctioned in 2012 at Foal Auction Prinsjesdag!

Caesar and Frederik Cattebeke win Grand Prix of Hasselt

The Belgian rider Frederik Cattebeke and Caesar, who sold at Foal Auction Prinsjesdag, won the Grand Prix of Hasselt last weekend. In this CSI2* 1.45m/1.50m class, the Lucky Boy son took the top prize of 6,250 euros.

In a time of 35.11 seconds, Frederik Cattebeke and Caesar, bred by B. Slot and Stal de Jonghe, were unbeatable. After a third place in the Grand Prix of Bonheiden and Vittel, there was finally a Grand Prix victory for the only nine-year-old Caesar. This Lucky Boy son out of a daughter of Corland is closely related to the Olympic show jumpers VDL Bubalu and VDL Groep Verdi TN NOP

Bonne Chance CW and Janika Sprunger reserve for Rio

After last season's very good performances, Janika Sprunger and Bonne Chance CW have been designated as reserve combination for Switzerland at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro next month. The ten-year-old Baloubet du Rouet mare Bonne Chance CW was auctioned in 2006 at Foal Auction Prinsjesdag.

For a long time it looked as though Bonne Chance CW and Janika Sprunger would be part of the Swiss base team, but Chef d'Equipe Andy Kistler has chosen Steve Guerdat, Martin Fuchs, Paul Estermann and Romain Duguet as his first four riders .

Prinsjesdag collection 2016 fully related to Olympic horses for Rio de Janeiro

The Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro are approaching and the list of participants is starting to become more and more clear. And this also makes it increasingly clear that the collection of Foal Auction Prinsjesdag 2016 is exceptionally often related to the Olympic horses for Rio!

Last Sunday the Dutch dressage team for Rio de Janeiro was announced: Glock's Johnson NOP, Glock's Voice, Jerich Parzival NOP and Arlando NOP will represent the Netherlands at the Olympics.
It is striking that Foal Auction Prinsjesdag has selected no fewer than seven (!) foals from medal candidate Glock's Johnson for the auction in Ermelo on Wednesday 14 September. Five very interesting colts and two high-quality fillies by Johnson are in the collection, of which Johnson has been combined three times with a Rousseau mare. The dam line of Jerich Parzival NOP is again represented via La Baule-STRH. This Millenium x Zhivago colt has the famous mare Orleans – the full sister of Jerich Parzival – as grandmother.

However, the Prinsjesdag foals are not only related to the Dutch Olympic dressage horses. The German Olympiad horse Desperados FRH is represented both by two direct sons in the auction collection and by the filly Latinmusik KL – a Le Vivaldi out of Desperados' half-sister. The Swedish Olympiad horse in the making Dante Weltino also has two colts in the auction.
The genes of reigning Olympic champion Valegro can also be found in the Prinsjesdag auction collection via sire Negro. Two Negro colts and two fillies will be auctioned in September.
Desperados

The Dutch showjumping team consists of SFN Zenith NOP, Emerald NOP, VDL Zirocco Blue NOP and VDL Groep Verdi TN NOP and the Prinsjesdag foals show plenty of kinship with these too. The impressive Zirocco Blue has a stallion and a filly in the collection and the topper Verdi also has a son in the auction. Perhaps the most striking Rio-related foal is Quartina DC – a filly by Comme Il Faut out of the half-sister of eye-catcher Emerald NOP
Also worth mentioning are the three descendants of Quickly de Kreisker, who will go to the Olympic Games for Morocco. Also unique is the colt of the Brazilian celebrity Quabri de l'Isle – the Kannan son of whom only a few foals are born each year. A filly by Hardrock Z, who will most likely go to Rio for Venezuela, is also included in the collection.
Emerald

Cornet Obolensky and For Pleasure are the main suppliers for the Olympic Games in Rio next month and several foals of these foundation stallions have also been included in the Prinsjesdag collection. Cornet Obolensky has three sons and two daughters in the auction and For Pleasure is represented by three sons and one daughter in the collection.

Arc de Triomphe, Gigolo III and Costa Date deliver strong international performance

Last weekend, the horses Arc de Triomphe, Gigolo III and Costa Date, auctioned at the Prinsjesdag Foal Auction, jumped to good international rankings. Arc de Triomphe (Triomphe de Muze x Calvados) under Frank Schuttert showed good things at the beautiful youth competition at the Tops International Arena in Valkenswaard, while Gigolo III (Cassini II x Chin Chin) under Rachel Sandoz and Costa Date (Vingino x Quidam de Revel) under Hannah Selleck started in Knokke.

Frank Schuttert and Arc de Triomphe concluded their excellent weekend in Valkenswaard with a nice fourth place in the U25 1,40m on Sunday afternoon. Swiss rider Rachel Sandoz also finished fourth last weekend with Gigolo III. At Knokke Hippique in the CS2* 1.45m class for Amazons only, Rachel Sandoz and Gigolo III finished in fourth place.

American rider Hannah Selleck secured a victory with Costa Date. Selleck recently took over the nine-year-old gray from Mexican Juan Pablo Gaspar Albañez and immediately jumped to first place in Knokke in a two-star 1.40m class.

Foal Auction Prinsjesdag auctions Millenium stallion foal out of half-sister Dutch champion TC Athene

The selected dressage foals from Foal Auction Prinsjesdag 2016 seem to have everything they need to start successfully in a few years' time at the Dutch Dressage Championships and the World Championship selections that will take place this week in Ermelo. The beautiful black colt La Baule-STRH has perhaps the most in common with some of the most striking horses in Ermelo this weekend. His dam Edelweiss-STR is the half-sister of the brand new Dutch champion Young Riders TC Athene ridden by Jeanine Nieuwenhuis and the KWPN-approved Governor who finished second under Adelinde Cornelissen in the five-year-old dressage horses.

The bred by Jan Streppel and Stephan Haarman La Baule STRH (Millenium x Zhivago) is not only bred out of the half-sister of TC Athene and Governor, but his grandmother Orléans is also the full sister of Jerich Parzival who started the Dutch Dressage Championships under Adelinde Cornellissen with 76.88% in the Grand Prix. This dam line is not only registered in the collection of Foal Auction Prinsjesdag via La Baule STRH, this successful line is also represented via three descendants of the very talented Governor (Totilas x Jazz).

One of the most strikingly bred descendants of Governor in the Prinsjesdag collection is Liquid Gold Utopia – a filly out of the Negro daughter Why o me Utopia. The full sister of Why o me Utopia is none other than Hexagon's Vinegra (Negro x De Niro), who competes at Grand Prix level under Thamar Zweistra. Grand Prix genes are fully represented at Foal Auction Prinsjesdag, for example: Louis 14 Sollenburg (For Romance x OO Seven) out of the Grand Prix mare Astrid Sollenburg, or the colt Luck Pleasure D (Dark Pleasure x Contango) whose dam Olympia W already produced the Grand Prix dressage horses Arthur of Ashley Holzer and Wilton of Anna Buffini and is also a descendant of the world famous Endy line. And don't forget the colt either Look at Me (Charmeur x Havidoff) – a half-brother of Imke Schellekens-Bartels' Grand Prix dressage horse Toots, who is currently ridden by the Japanese Akane Kuroki.

The dam lines of several prominent approved stallions are also strongly represented in the collection of Foal Auction Prinsjesdag. Take the filly for example Latin music KL (Le Vivaldi x Don Frederico), bred out of the half-sister of Kristina Sprehe's Grand Prix stallion Desperados FRH, who is also the sire of the colt Lightning Texel W (ds. Krack C) and the colt Demario W (ds. Painted Black). Also the filly Luresia WD (Charmeur x Krack C) bred out of the direct dam line of the KWPN-approved Dream Boy and the colt Last Minute (Dante Weltino x Jazz) bred out of the half-sister of the foundation sire Rousseau are certainly worth mentioning. In addition, the very interesting fillies Lirava (Capri Sonne Jr. x Scandic) bred out of the same dam as KWPN performance topper Giovanni and Lanzarote (Dream Boy x Jazz ) – the full sister of the sadly deceased reserve champion of the KWPN Stallion Selection 2016 Ireland – under the hammer on Wednesday 14 September at Foal Auction Prinsjesdag.

The foals mentioned above are just a few of the excellent dressage collection of Foal Auction Prinsjesdag 2016! All pedigrees of the selected foals can be found on www.prinsjesdag.eu and via the auction list on HorseTelex. If you cannot wait for the auction day on Wednesday 14 September in Ermelo, you are cordially invited to take a look at the photo/video day of the dressage foals on Friday 22 July at Equestrian Center Gert van den Hoorn at Asselseweg 35 in Kootwijk.

Alicante impresses at Nations Cup debut in Aachen

The eleven-year-old gray stallion Alicante made his debut last night in a Nations Cup in the Mercedes-Benz Nations Cup of CHIO Aachen. The Casall son jumped a flawless first lap under Jérôme Guery, only the penultimate oxer was lightly touched and fell directly to the grass.

In the second round Alicante was not ideal in the triple jump, but he jumped the remaining course brilliantly again, so that it remained with two jumping errors. We are going to hear a lot more about this breeding product from Ron Nowee of Stoeterij 't Maalwater, who has now officially made his breakthrough at the highest level! Ninth place in GP Falsterbo for Bonne Chance CW

The jumping phenomenon Bonne Chance CW jumped again clear in the CSIO5* 1.60m Grand Prix after two clear rounds in the FEI Nations Cup in Falsterbo. Under Janika Sprunger, the ten-year-old Baloubet du Rouet daughter made a mistake in the jump-off and finished in ninth place. Bonne Chance CW has been sold at Foal Auction Prinsjesdag: the Power of Performance!
