Hamilton selected for Excellent Dressage Sales World Championship Edition

The four-year-old Hamilton (Apache x Contango) is included in the collection of the Excellent Dressage Sales, which will take place in Ermelo during the World Championship for young dressage horses. Foal Auction Prinsjesdag has almost complete auction collection 2016

With the last selection rounds to go, Foal Auction Prinsjesdag has almost complete its auction collection for Tuesday 13 and Wednesday 14 September 2016! Prinsjesdag selectors Bert Poppelaars and Fred van Straaten drove around town and country in recent months to find the best jumping and dressage foals that meet the strict requirements of Foal Auction Prinsjesdag. And with success! “I've been saying it for five years in a row, but I think we'll have even better foals this year than last year,” Bert Poppelaars is convinced.

Both the jumping and dressage collections are full of foals with pedigrees that make your mouth water. Proven stallions from strong dam lines, sports sensations with exclusive bloodlines, promising young stallions from excellent mares; the Prinsjesdag collection 2016 has it all.
Famous sires such as Cornet Obolensky, Diamant de Semilly, Toulon, Kannan and For Pleasure predominate in the jumping direction, but also for foals of jumping phenomena and very promising breeding stallions such as Comme Il Faut, Quickly de Kreisker, Vagabond de la Pomme, Zirocco Blue and Aganix du Seigneur has found a place in the collection. The dressage collection is packed with excellently bred foals from strong dam lines. No fewer than six very striking foals by the famous Grand Prix dressage stallion Glock's Johnson NOP have been added to the auction and proven sires such as Negro and Florencio are also represented in the collection several times. And don't forget the foals of sports sensations such as Glock's Zonik, Desperados, Dreamboy, Apache and Capri Sonne Jr.

'Worth the investment'
In addition to the big names, there is once again room for offspring of young stallions this year. “We also want to give young stallions the opportunity to come into the limelight with foals at our auction. Stallion owners state that young stallions do not mate, but breeders have not fallen on their minds. The young stallions that are really genetically interesting are actually used”, says Fred van Straaten. “This year we were able to be even stricter in the selection: mothers and grandmothers who have performed in sport themselves or who have demonstrably given a lot of sport, we have been able to stick to that more and more. And as you can see in this collection, we have had to make fewer concessions again. In addition to excellently bred colts, we also have a large number of interesting fillies this year and with the development of contemporary techniques it is becoming more and more interesting to combine sport and breeding. These fillies are therefore definitely worth the investment.”

'Amazing dressage collection'
Bert Poppelaars can already look at the dressage collection with a satisfied feeling. “We have an amazing dressage collection again this year! We have even more foals from real sport lines than in previous years and with the dressage foals we are getting closer and closer to the motto of Prinsjesdag: the Power of Performance. In addition to very interesting colts, we also have genetically high-quality fillies, for example the Capri Sonne JR out of Giovanni's dam or the Dreamboy from Zaragoza, in other words the full sister of the reserve champion of the KWPN Stallion Selection Ireland. And don't forget the Johnson from Dorado's mother! We also have an exceptional colt by Ferdinand x Citango or take the For Romance out of the mare Astrid Sollenburg who is now competing in the Grand Prix. We don't actually have a foal that doesn't have a good story to tell," Bert Poppelaars sounds enthusiastic. “It takes a lot of energy to get this collection together, but it will work again this year!”

You are cordially invited to admire the dressage foals on Friday 22 July and the jumping foals on Saturday 23 July at the photo/video day of Foal Auction Prinsjesdag at Equestrian Center Gert van den Hoorn at Asselseweg 35 in Kootwijk.

Strong performances Alicante and Jérôme Guery CSI5* Treffen

At the impressive Glock CSI5* Treffen competition, Alicante and his Belgian rider Jérôme Guery showed their good side again. The beautiful gray stallion of Casall jumped to fourth place on the opening day and only dropped one bar in his third five-star Grand Prix.

The KWPN-approved stallion Alicante has jumped from one top ranking to another under Jérôme Guery in recent months, but especially in the important secondary classes at the five-star competitions. Now the breeding product of Ron Nowee of Stoeterij 't Maalwater seems to have made the switch to the Grand Prix level and it is only a matter of time until the first victory is a fact.
