Charmer makes a crushing impression

The KWPN stallion charmer made a crushing impression yesterday in Ermelo in the semi-finals for the Pavo Cup for five-year-old dressage horses. The dressage crack bred by the late Huub and Tiny van Helvoirt scored numerous points and received the ultimate ten for his trot. His total came to a well-deserved 93 points. Not only did the stallion show his quality through his basic gaits, he was also ridden excellently by Emmelie Scholtens and the attachment was exemplary.

Her dam comes from the preferent Flemmingh, the Holsteiner stallion who has proven to have provided great added value for Dutch dressage horse breeding.

Apache back in the competition rhythm

Emmelie Scholtens started the KWPN stallion Apache (by UB40) last Saturday in Hulten in the Prix St. Georges. This first match after the Dutch Championships gave the combination a score of more than 70%, which meant the victory.

Scholtens: “I am very satisfied with the test and actually expected that the score would be higher,” said Scholtens. “I chose this race to get Apache back into some competition routine. The points don't really matter to me, but if you've driven well you expect more."

She continues about the test: “The trot part was really good. The stretching really couldn't be better in my opinion, from the beginning to the end, yet he only got a 7.5 for it. In the walk he was a little distracted, but that did not lead to major problems. He was also very good at the canter, except for one pirouette, which I started a little too small.”
