In short, a top auction. VP chairman Arjan van der Waaij cannot help but be very satisfied. “Last year the collection was already very good, this year perhaps even better. We have a very good product and we notice that customers are finding us better and better. The buyers come from all over the world, even from Australia, America and Italy, and large sports stables are here live. Katharina Offel also bought one. People know that the story is true, that the foals come from excellent performance lines. The foals also have to be top notch, otherwise it won't work."

Van der Waaij emphasizes that the auction is pleased that breeders entrust their foals to 'Prinsjesdag'. “They have to grant their foals, but on the other hand we also market them well for them. I hope that tomorrow we will be able to achieve such a result during the auction of the dressage foals. There are already many registrations from buyers and the VIP tables are sold out. We are looking forward to."

Famous lines Usha van 't Roosakker and Van 't Merelsnest represented in Prinsjesdag collection

The selection committee of Foal Auction Prinsjesdag also traveled across town and country this year to select the best foals for the show jumping and dressage auction on Tuesday 13 and Wednesday 14 September. Even foals from the famous and sought-after lines of Usha van 't Roosakker and McLain Ward's Olympian Sapphire or the Van 't Merelsnest breeding are again part of the show jumping collection this year.

The colts come from the line of the world famous mare Usha van 't Roosakker this year Quantum of the Bishop (Untouched x Elvis ter Putte) and Quando van den Bishop (Harley VDL x Stakkato).

Quantum van den Bisschop is one of the few descendants of the recently deceased Untouched, who belonged to one of the greatest jumping talents in the world under Ben Maher at the age of nine. In addition, Quantum was bred out of the young, promising mare Mevita van den Bisschop, the half-sister of the international show jumping talents Josephine van den Bisschop (Alberto Zorzi), Isaac van den Bisschop (Hansueli Sprunger) and Jackson van den Bisschop (Sabrina van Rijswijk). Great-granddam Evita van 't Roosakker is a direct daughter of Usha van 't Roosakker and is therefore the full sister of Emperio van 't Roosakker (Alexandra Crown) and Equador van 't Roosakker (Frédéric David) and the half-sister of the famous Cella ( Ben Maher) and the promising young stallion George Z.
Via the mare Mandy van den Bisschop, Quando van den Bisschop goes directly back to Josephine van den Bisschop, who already jumps at international level at the age of seven under Alberto Zorzi – stable rider of Jan Tops. The great-granddam of Quando van den Bisschop is Evita van 't Roosakker, the Nabab de Rêve daughter from Usha van 't Roosakker.

The colts Qionno van 't Merelsnest (Kannan x Nabab de Rêve) and Quizano van 't Merelsnest (Diamant de Semilly x Kannan) represent this year the famous strain of Sapphire (McLain Ward) and Glasgow van 't Merelsnest (Jur Vrieling).

Qionno van 't Merelsnest descends from the talented mare Latina van 't Merelsnest who goes back to Wendelina van 't Merelsnest via Indi Blue-W van 't Merelsnest. This mare jumped at international 1.50m level herself, is the full sister of McLain Wards Sapphire and produced Glasgow van 't Merelsnest and Edjaz van 't Merelsnest (Ward De Bie) among others.
Quizano van 't Merelsnest has a pedigree to dream of with Diamant de Semilly, Kannan, Mr. Blue, Lord Z and Darco consecutively. Ultimately, Quizano's pedigree also goes back to the line of the two-time gold Olympian Sapphire.

Big Star breeder Cees Klaver: 'Big Star is always jumping'

Tomorrow evening is the day, then the auction of the Aganix du Seigneur embryo out of the full sister of Big Star will end at Embryoauction.com† Cees Klaver, the breeder of this embryo and of Big Star himself, emphasizes once again what a unique opportunity this is: “A horse cannot do better things than what Big Star has done. This whole line is correct, because the mother of this embryo Telysette also jumped fantastic.”

Aganix du Seigneur, the sire of this embryo, is seen worldwide as an up-and-coming foundation stallion and with Quick Star, Nimmerdor, Ramiro and Erdball xx successively on the dam's side, the jumping genes are strongly anchored in this embryo. Mother telysette is not only the full sister of Nick Skelton's Olympic champion Big Star, but also jumped successfully in the sport. †telysette was a typical Quick Star who really wants to work and jumps with incredible quality and take-off! But a large Quick Star, measuring more than 1.67m in height. Grandmother Jolanda was herself a very generous daughter of Nimmerdor who also resembled Ramiro very much. With her size and good front, she matched the smaller Quick Star perfectly, and that is with Big Star and telysette also proved to be”, explains Cees Klaver.

From the first jump that Big Star made, Klaver knew he had a phenomenon in his stable. †Big Star is always jumping, always keeping an eye on the pole. The first few times I let him free jump, he jumped exceptionally well. I've always given him a ten for jumping! In addition, he has the heart of a lion and he always wants to go to the other side," says Klaver. As winner of individual gold at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, team gold at the Olympic Games in London and winner of the Aachen Grand Prix, Big Star to the legends of show jumping. †Big Star simply does not come close to the wood. Nick Skelton once told me that as an eight-year-old when he progressed from 1.40m level to 1.50m level he had not once jumped a bar in a year and a half. Not in the ring, not in the forecourt and not at home! I don't know any other horse that does that, Big Star has always had a very good way of jumping!”

The auction of the Aganix du Seigeneur embryo from the full sister of Big Star ends on Sunday 4 August at 8:00 PM. Embryoauction.com† Do not hesitate and seize this unique opportunity!
