Boston STH and Denise Nekeman win U25 Jumping Amsterdam

The top combination Denise Nekeman and Boston STH convincingly won the U25 Cup at Jumping Amsterdam last night. The Johnson son Boston STH was auctioned as a foal at Foal Auction Prinsjesdag.

Denise Nekeman and Boston STH drove a fantastic score of 72,75% and are therefore more than one percent ahead of the competition in the Zegwaard Sewer Stopping U25 Cup. The end for Boston and Denise Nekeman seems far from in sight, because for tough exercises such as the passage and the substitutions every two, the combination scored 8's.

Second place for Darabel and Vai Bruntink in Small Tour

Darabel and Vai Bruntink, who were auctioned at Foal Auction Prinsjesdag, achieved a nice second place in the Small Tour in Harich last weekend. With 69.47%, Darabel was only beaten by Vai Bruntink's other horse Chardonnay.

Darabel is an eight-year-old daughter of Westpoint out of the Don Schufro x Flemmingh mare White Spot. In addition to the sports predicate, Darabel also obtained the elite predicate and already passed the IBOP with 80 points.

Demario W to Sweden for 40,000 at successful second Prinsjesdag auction

After more than 60 jumping foals were sold for an average of almost 14,000 euros on Tuesday, it was the turn of the dressage collection of Foal Safe Prinsjesdag on Wednesday. After a quiet start before the break, the buyers were well on their way. Twelve foals fetched 17,000 euros and more, of which the sensationally moving Demario W came in for 40,000 euros. Breeder Benny Wezenberg from IJsselmuiden can send the son of Desperados FRH x Painted Black off to Sweden. New owner is 2m2 Trading AB, which also bought on Prinsjesdag two years ago.

The average price per dressage foal has increased by about 330 euros to 11,330 euros compared to last year. “The first foal with 11,000 euros was sold very easily, but after that the auction was a bit syrupy. After the break, things went well again," says VP chairman Arjan van der Waaij.

“On the other hand, what is a less good price?” he continues. “If you participate in the game, you as a breeder know that you will be below or above the average price. But the price below is often also nice. I think we had a very nice collection of uniform foals with a lot of blood spread.”

Demario W was by far the price winner with 40,000 euros via telephone bidding. The Louis 14 Sollenburg (For Romance x OO Seven), sold for 32,000 euros, bred by Adrie Zekveld in Almere out of the famous Grand Prix mare Astrid Sollenburg, is going to Rockanje in South Holland. Lewis Utopia (Johnson x Metall, breeder Stal van Stokkom from Drimmelen) was purchased by Mr. Dalsem from Den Hoorn. Willeke Bos from Stal 104 invested 24,000 euros in Lafürstinels (All at Once x Hotline) from breeder AJM aan de Stegge from Enter.

The Kansas Z (Kannan x Quidam de Revel), who was auctioned yesterday for 26,000 euros, will get a stable mate in Dorado's half-sister Laguna van de Westen (Johnson x Rousseau, breeder C. Kikkert in Den Burg), which was purchased by the same Indonesian owner for 20,000 euros. Top rider and trader Andreas Helgstrand also came to do some shopping. He paid 18,000 euros for Let's Go Win (Grand Galaxy Win x Krack C) from M. van Alphen's breeding in Hurwenen. LA – Zonik L (Zonik x Goodtimes) and Lirava (Capri Sonne jr. x Scandic) were also sold for 18,000 euros.

Grand Prix dressage rider Sander Marijnissen also came shopping and put his hand on Lexington ter Selle S (Grenoble x Jazz) for 7,000 euros.

In any case, the organization of Foal Auction Prinsjesdag can look back on two very successful auction days. “We still have to evaluate, of course, but the auction in two days went very well. It gives a lot of peace. For the entrants, for buyers who can now view the foals at their leisure and for the organization. There is a good chance that we will do it again next year!” According to Van der Waaij.

Prinsjesdag donates the proceeds of opening pieces again to DVB Foundation

PRESS RELEASE – Monday September 12, 2016

The National Foal Auction Prinsjesdag and DVB Foundation have been linked since 2013. The auction is always opened with an auction piece and the proceeds of this go to riders and amazons with a handicap. That will also be the case tomorrow and the day after tomorrow.

The public at the show jumping foals can bid on a mating of the Olympic show jumping stallion Verdi (Quidam de Revel x Landgraf I) on Tuesday 13 September, who has been the mainstay of the Dutch team for many years. On Wednesday 14 September, the day of the dressage foals, a beautiful bronze horse statue, made by the artist Brigitte Boss, will be auctioned. The auction is scheduled to start at 5:45 PM on both days.

Over the past three editions, 15,400 euros could already be transferred to the DVB Foundation. The goal of DVB Foundation is to support therapeutic horse riding for the disabled.

High-profile dressage talents deliver Prinsjesdag foals

Not only proven foundation stallions, but also the up-and-coming talents provide foals in the dressage collection of Foal Auction Prinsjesdag this year. Talkers such as Grand Galaxy Win, Glamourdale, Fürst William and Ferdeaux are fully represented in the dressage collection of Foal Auction Prinsjesdag on Wednesday 14 September.

The promising Grand Galaxy Win delivers no fewer than three foals for Foal Auction Prinsjesdag. The fillies Ladonna-Minka (pl. Kigali) and La Grande Dame Frieschwijk (ds. Valdez) and the colt Let's Go Win (ds. Krack C) are real eye-catchers and all descend from the Danish stallion selection champion Grand Galaxy Win.

The KWPN Stallion Inspection Champion in 2014 Glamourdale is represented in the collection by two sons: Lorence de Jeu (pl. Jazz) and Loco K (pls. Rousseau). In addition to the two foals from Glock's Toto Jr and the two Governor daughters, Grenoble, Ghandi, George Clooney, Gray Flanell and Guardian S also deliver foals for Prinsjesdag. The colt foal is also worth mentioning Lennessy-B, who descends from the promising De Niro son Hennessy. Or Limited Edition, the son of World Champion of the young stallions Fürst William.

Grand Prix horse in the making Ferdeaux also brings the colts Lemar (pls. Locksley II) and La Chouffe (ds. Charmeur) in the auction, while Vivaldi son Ferdinand by the very striking lavantic (pl. Citango) is represented.

All these foals and many other future toppers will be auctioned on Wednesday 14 September at Foal Auction Prinsjesdag. Be there!

Five grandchildren of dressage wonder Totilas in Prinsjesdag collection

Under Edward Gal and Mathias Alexander Rath, Totilas belonged to the best dressage horses of all time. The Gribaldi son is also doing exceptionally well in breeding and Foal Auction Prinsjesdag was able to select no fewer than five of Totilas' grandchildren for the dressage auction on Wednesday 14 September in Ermelo.

Dressage sensation Glock's Toto Jr (Totilas x Desperados) is the father of two foals in the Prinsjesdag collection. The winner of the Pavo Cup 2016 for five-year-olds is the sire of the filly La Vie Est Belle RH (Glock's Toto Jr x Jazz) and the colt lalique (Glock's Toto Jr x Welt Hit II).

Glock's Toto Jr is not the only Totilas son to excel in both sport and breeding. Genetic tour de force Governor (Totilas x full sister Jerich Parzival) under Adelinde Cornelissen achieved the highest score this year in the final selection for the World Championship for young dressage horses and ended up fifth in the final standings at the World Championships. Governor is represented by two daughters in the Prinsjesdag collection. La Belle van de Moerhoek (Governor x De Niro) is without a doubt one of the highlights of the collection and also Liquid Gold Utopia (Governor x Negro) stands out.

The four-year-old KWPN-approved Totilas son Trafalgar (ds. Lord Loxley I x full sister dressage legend Putin) has one filly in the collection, namely Lessona-O (Trafalgar x Sunny Boy).

Prinsjesdag auctions full sister of high-profile KWPN reserve champion Ireland

Ireland was one of the eye-catchers at the KWPN Stallion Inspection, but his career was not to last long. The reserve champion of the KWPN Stallion Inspection, purchased by Andreas Helgstrand, died of colic. With the filly Lanzarote (Dream Boy x Jazz), Foal Auction Prinsjesdag has still managed to capture the genes of Ireland.

Just like the high-profile Ireland descends Lanzarote from the foundation sire in the making, Dream Boy out of the well-known mare Zaragoza by Stoeterij Broere. This Jazz daughter is in turn the full sister of the KWPN-approved stallion Bristol, who was successful in dressage under Kirsten Beckers. Dream Boy is now a leader in both the stallion and mare inspections and his offspring are also starting to break through in the sport. Under Hans Peter Minderhoud, Dream Boy impresses in the Small Tour.

With the filly Luresia WD Foal Auction Prinsjesdag has managed to capture a foal related to Dream Boy. The Charmeur daughter, bred by Willem Dekker, is closely related to the Vivaldi son Dream Boy through great-granddam Iresia. The foundation sire Vivaldi – sire of the entire top three of the Pavo Cup Final for six-year-olds – is also well represented in the dressage collection. The Johnson Son Lewis Utopia comes from the same dam line as Vivaldi, the most interesting filly Latin music KL is a granddaughter and filly via father Le Vivaldi La Femme Ter Kwincke carries Vivaldi in the second generation and descends from the world famous Grand Prix stallion and dressage horse sire Briar.

Foal Auction Prinsjesdag publishes veterinary reports

For the first time, potential buyers already have insight into the veterinary reports of the foals that will be auctioned during the Foal Auction Prinsjesdag on 13 and 14 September. The findings of the clinical examination by recognized veterinary surgeons can be found on the website www.prinsjesdag.eu. This makes Foal Auction Prinsjesdag the first auction in the Netherlands that goes one step further in openness.
“We do this to provide the best possible transparent picture of the auction foals. For each foal that we have selected, we believe that the accompanying report is good enough for him or her to be auctioned, taking into account that they are very young foals where a lot can still change in terms of development," says Arjan van der Waaij, chairman of the foal auction in Ermelo.

The jumping foals will be auctioned on Tuesday 13 September, the dressage foals on Wednesday 14 September. A new embryo has also been added to www.embryoauctions.com, a branch of Foal Auction Prinsjesdag. It is an embryo of For Romance (Fürst Romancier x Sir Donnerhall I) out of the half-sister of Desperados FRH, winner of individual bronze and team gold at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. The online auction closes on August 28 at 8 p.m.
