Five-star victory for Arc de Triomphe

SANKT GALLEN – Frank Schuttert and Arc de Triomphe (Triomphe de Muze x Calvados) recorded their first five star victory at CSIO Sankt Gallen yesterday. In yesterday's 1.45 m class, which was held over two phases, Schuttert triumphed and the 2005 op Foal Auction Prinsjesdag auctioned Arc de Triomphe.

With the victory in the 1.45 m in Sankt Gallen, the Arc de Triomphe, fully trained by Frank Schuttert himself, has also proven to be competitive at a five-star level (!). Arc de Triomphe is a son of Triomphe de Muze and the international top mare Una Bella S (Calvados x Libero H). The Van Straaten family from Den Ham bred the successful gelding, which came into the hands of Frank Schuttert in 2005.

For top talent Bonne Chance CW (Baloubet du Rouet x Cambridge) and Janika Sprunger it was a clear first phase and a slight error in the second phase.

Prinsjesdag stallions Highlander and Hervé d'Ive VDL approved by KWPN

ERMELO – Two colts auctioned at Foal Auction Prinsjesdag 2012 have already grown into KWPN-approved stallions. The Numero Uno son Highlander (ds. Vingino) and the Vigo d'Arsouilles son Hervé d'Ive VDL (ds. Indoctro) both obtained their breeding license from the KWPN. With 81.5 points, Highlander is one of the highlights of his year and Hervé d'Ive VDL was also rewarded with several 8s.

Monique Lamers-Couwenberg from Heide bred Highlander out of the Vingino daughter Ditty Dante C. The Prinsjesdag selection committee was already charmed by the blood-bred Highlander, who, in addition to top stallions in his pedigree, also comes from a top dam line. Great-granddam Citty (by Ramiro) is the foundation of countless international show jumpers. Loyal Prinsjesdag buyers Jos Althuyzen and Egbert Schep were also charmed by the flexible gray and bought it.
With an 8.5 for canter and an 8.5 for scope, Highlander stood out above his contemporaries. In addition, he scored at least an 8 for all jumping components and his total came to 81.5.

Hervé d'Ive VDL (Vigo d'Arsouilles x Indoctro) was born with Isabelle Van Eeckhout in Outer-Ninove, Belgium. In addition to the Prinsjesdag selection committee, the Van de Lageweg family of VDL Stud was also impressed by the strongly built chestnut. VDL Stud therefore bought the Vigo d'Arsouilles son at Foal Auction Prinsjesdag.
Hervé d'Ive's grandmother Almfee (Almé x Gotthard) jumped at 1.45 m level herself and is the foundation of a large number of international show jumpers. A similar career lies ahead for Hervé d'Ive as well. The fox scored an 8 for his beautiful technique and an 8 for his generous scope. It is not without reason that his talent as a jumping horse was rewarded with an 8 and his total score came to 76 points.
