Two foals for charity at Foal Auction Prinsjesdag

Social involvement is a high priority at Foal Auction Prinsjesdag. That is why this auction has been supporting charities for many years. This year, an interesting foal will be auctioned on both auction days, half of the proceeds of which will go to such an important cause. On the day of the jumping foals, this is Support Casper, and Villa Pardoes is supported with the dressage foals.

Support Casper

On Tuesday 17 September, the striking variegated colt Torro van den Bisschop (by El Barone 111) cat.no. 65 auctioned for charity. Breeders Tom and Ines de Craene immediately had a good feeling about it. "We didn't have to think long about it, because we are happy to support this good cause." Fifty percent of the proceeds of the black fur goes to Support Casper of the Surviving with Pancreatic Cancer Foundation. This organization is committed to fighting pancreatic cancer, the second most deadly form of cancer in our country. The aim is to raise awareness about pancreatic cancer and at the same time raise structural funds to enable much-needed research into new, innovative treatment methods. “Torro van den Bisschop's sire El Barone 111 is a very striking stallion and this special foal also represents a good stock. With this, the buyer not only helps a good cause, but he also really gets his hands on a promising foal”, concludes the Belgian top breeder.

Villa Pardoes

Dressage breeder Wim van der Linde also decided to auction one of his best foals for charity. From this foal, the good moving Glock's Toto Jr. son Omaha Beach Texel cat.no. 60, half of the proceeds will also be donated to a good cause, namely Villa Pardoes. “You can already see it from the video, this is really a very special foal. He also comes from a line that includes a lot of sport.” The very successful breeder is happy to contribute to a good cause. “Of course I looked into it. Villa Pardoes helps children between the ages of four and twelve, and I have five grandchildren of that age. Fortunately they are all healthy, but recently one of them had to go to the hospital for ear tubes. That is a relatively easy procedure, but even that I slept badly! I have not had that with my own children, I am more concerned about the grandchildren. You sometimes see it around you; a sick child is really a disaster. I'm always happy when they make noise again, then it's good again!"
Villa Pardoes is an initiative of the De Efteling Nature Park Foundation. The organization offers an unforgettable free vacation for families with a seriously, potentially life-threateningly ill child. These are children eager to think about something other than their illness for a while. Villa Pardoes consists of twelve holiday homes and exists thanks to the efforts of a large number of volunteers, employees and sponsors.
