Rider changes for Edinburgh and Glamor Girl

The careers of horses auctioned as foals at Foal Auction Prinsjesdag are in full swing. Maikel van der Vleuten recently acquired the KWPN-approved stallion Edinburgh and Gaesbekers Glamor Girl is now one of the trump cards of top rider Janika Sprunger. Several references have achieved great successes in recent weeks, for example Gaudi Vita (by Apache) made a successful Grand Prix dressage debut.

In mid-November, the Gaesbekers Glamor Girl (Zirocco Blue VDL x Caletto I), bred by Mieke Zoetelief, won the 1.55m Grand Prix of CSI3* Opglabbeek under Richard Howley and two weeks later the mare moved to Janika Sprunger. Under this top rider, the successful Glamor Girl will continue her career. In 2011 she was part of the collection of Foal Auction Prinsjesdag. The KWPN-approved stallion Edinburgh (Vleut x Darco, breeders Evert Meijer and Gerard Lindeboom) auctioned two years earlier has also undergone a promising rider change. After years of winning prizes under Kristian Houwen up to international 1.50m level, the stallion has now been added to the illustrious list of horses available to Maikel van der Vleuten.

Successful

E'Special PS (Berlin x Caruso), bred by Peter Simons, won two international victories with Karl Cook in November. At the CSI3* Thermal they started the month well with a beautiful 1.50m victory, followed by a fourth prize in the 1.45m against the clock. They then took another victory in the 1.40m at the national competition in Las Vegas. Under the Austrian Monika Niederländer, the eight-year-old Goodlord Carthago RV (Mylord Carthago x Cash, breeder Stoeterij Renken from Vriescheloo) jumped clear to fourth prize in the 1.40m class against the clock at CSI2* Kreuth. In the 1.45m at CSI4* Jumping Indoor Maastricht, the Bustique son Feeling Luckey (ds.Krunch de Brêve) under Karim El Zoghby made an advertisement by finishing fourth clear.

Grand Prix

In the last month of 2019 Joyce Heuitink made a successful Grand Prix debut with her top horse Gaudi Vita (Apache x Welt Hit II, breeder Heleen Broos of Annen). At the Subtop competition in Exloo they made a convincing, winning debut in which they scored 71.4% at the highest level. That tastes like more!
