Glamour Girl

Just like last year, the page is adorned by one of our references in Christmas spirit.
This year we have chosen Glamour Girl who, together with top rider Henrik von Eckermann, has achieved some stunning victories. Earlier this year they won a 1.55m class in Dinard, then in a very spectacular way a 1.50m in Rome during the GCT. Glamour Girl is also able to compete at the highest level, as she won the 4* GP in Stockholm at the end of November.

Von Eckermann: “I have been riding her for a year and a half now, and we brought her in with the idea that she can act at the very highest level. We want to bring her to that level slowly, step by step. She is incredibly fast but her greatest quality is her fighter’s mentality, which is extraordinary.” The 10-year-old mare is not the easiest, Hendrik: “She has her instructions. If she is quiet and everything around her is quiet, there is no problem. But if she gets excited, she sometimes wants to run, and when you sit on her you don’t really think that she can be stopped!

Glamour Girl was bred by Stoeterij Gaesbeek in Ruinen. They combined the 1.60m jumping Zirocco Blue VDL with the mare Moonlight II by Caletto I. A mare that already produced several fine show jumpers such as the 1.60m jumping Duke and the 1.40m horse Miss Marome. Fred van Straaten selected Glamour Girl for the auction at the time: “It was not immediately a very striking foal, she was well built and was correctly built. What I remember well was her ability to switch and she was already terribly fast.”

We are curious to see what successes we can still expect from Glamour Girl, the future looks bright. Henrik and the team at Cyor Stables thank you for your cooperation in putting this fantastic mare in the spotlight as a reference.
