Genetically interesting Tobago Z son added to the collection

Under Daniel Deusser, the Tangelo van de Zuuthoeve son Tobago Z has already built up an impressive career, including World Cup victories in Madrid and Bordeaux, and victories in the 5* Grand Prix of Lyon and Oslo as well as team silver at the European Championships in Rotterdam. . Foal Auction Prinsjesdag is pleased to add an interesting son of his, bred out of the excellent strain of Larthago, to the collection for September 17th.

The exclusive colt Talent Z was bred by Tinus van der Bruggen out of the mare Happy Z (s.Harley VDL), who goes back on both father's and mother's side to the famous Carthago daughter Larthago. This top mare jumped at international 1.50m level under Mathijs van Asten herself and, in addition to the international sport and breeding stallion Harley VDL, she also produced the Grand Prix show jumpers Dimitri Z (s.Diarado), Sören Z (s.Sandro Boy) and Hopes Are High Z (by Highvalley Z).

Talent Z is one of the few descendants of the excellent performing Tobago Z. He has been added to the collection of Foal Auction Prinsjesdag under catalog number 65 and will be auctioned in Ermelo on Tuesday 17 September, together with 64 other future talents.

Rock-solid confidence in the foal collections

Foal Auction Prinsjesdag is proud to present its promising collection of jumping and dressage foals, which will be auctioned on 17 and 18 September in Ermelo. “Certainly in terms of fillies, there is no auction in Europe with this caliber of foals”, light selector Fred van Straaten as a tip of the veil.

A select group of 65 show jumping and 60 dressage foals, including one foal for charity in each breeding direction, will be auctioned on 17 and 18 September at the National Equestrian Center in Ermelo.

fillies

Both selection committees are full of praise for the selected foals. “We think that this year we have been particularly successful in putting together a top collection for jumping foals,” say selectors Fred van Straaten and Willem van Hoof. “We have a lot of very interesting colts, and certainly in terms of fillies there is no auction in Europe that can match our collection. This makes Foal Auction Prinsjesdag the auction to invest in the future, with a view to both sport and breeding. Thanks to all the good breeders, we can start auctioning very interesting foals on September 17th, in which we have rock-solid confidence.”

Extreme movement talents

The quality in width is also very striking in the dressage direction. “And that is supplemented by a number of extreme peaks to the top”, selector Lauw van Vliet is enthusiastic. “I have been involved in the selection of dressage foals since this year and you can't quite predict how things will go in advance. But I am very surprised by the loyalty of the breeders and the good reputation that Foal Auction Prinsjesdag has visibly built up. The offer was very good and then the bar continues to rise. We really selected for movement, shifting power, a functional exterior and good development. Great foals from good stocks, who have a great future ahead of them.” On September 18, it will be determined for the dressage foals with whom they can start the further future.

Two foals for charity at Foal Auction Prinsjesdag

Social involvement is a high priority at Foal Auction Prinsjesdag. That is why this auction has been supporting charities for many years. This year, an interesting foal will be auctioned on both auction days, half of the proceeds of which will go to such an important cause. On the day of the jumping foals, this is Support Casper, and Villa Pardoes is supported with the dressage foals.

Support Casper

On Tuesday 17 September, the striking variegated colt Torro van den Bisschop (by El Barone 111) cat.no. 65 auctioned for charity. Breeders Tom and Ines de Craene immediately had a good feeling about it. "We didn't have to think long about it, because we are happy to support this good cause." Fifty percent of the proceeds of the black fur goes to Support Casper of the Surviving with Pancreatic Cancer Foundation. This organization is committed to fighting pancreatic cancer, the second most deadly form of cancer in our country. The aim is to raise awareness about pancreatic cancer and at the same time raise structural funds to enable much-needed research into new, innovative treatment methods. “Torro van den Bisschop's sire El Barone 111 is a very striking stallion and this special foal also represents a good stock. With this, the buyer not only helps a good cause, but he also really gets his hands on a promising foal”, concludes the Belgian top breeder.

Villa Pardoes

Dressage breeder Wim van der Linde also decided to auction one of his best foals for charity. From this foal, the good moving Glock's Toto Jr. son Omaha Beach Texel cat.no. 60, half of the proceeds will also be donated to a good cause, namely Villa Pardoes. “You can already see it from the video, this is really a very special foal. He also comes from a line that includes a lot of sport.” The very successful breeder is happy to contribute to a good cause. “Of course I looked into it. Villa Pardoes helps children between the ages of four and twelve, and I have five grandchildren of that age. Fortunately they are all healthy, but recently one of them had to go to the hospital for ear tubes. That is a relatively easy procedure, but even that I slept badly! I have not had that with my own children, I am more concerned about the grandchildren. You sometimes see it around you; a sick child is really a disaster. I'm always happy when they make noise again, then it's good again!"
Villa Pardoes is an initiative of the De Efteling Nature Park Foundation. The organization offers an unforgettable free vacation for families with a seriously, potentially life-threateningly ill child. These are children eager to think about something other than their illness for a while. Villa Pardoes consists of twelve holiday homes and exists thanks to the efforts of a large number of volunteers, employees and sponsors.

Prinsjesdag horses are making a name for themselves in international sport

The list of Foal Auction Prinsjesdag references that perform well in international sport continues to grow. They pop up everywhere in both show jumping and dressage. Such as the Clinton son Flinton, the Berlin daughter E'Special PS and VDL Groep Elexia (s.Calvaro Z) in the jumping direction. Horses that underline our motto 'the power of performance'.

E'Special PS (Berlin x Caruso), bred by Peter Simons, is making progress with two international victories. With Karl Cook, the ten-year-old mare won both the 1.45m in CSI2* Del Mar and the 1.40m in CSI4*-W Vancouver last month. VDL Groep Elexia also booked a double in August (Calvaro Z x Alexis Z, breeder Frank van Eijkelenburg). With Leopold van Asten in the saddle, she jumped clear to second prize in the 1.45m class of CSI5*-GCT Valkenswaard, and to eighth place in the Grand Prix of CSI2* Kronenberg.

Prize winners

The nine-year-old Clinton son Flinton (ds.Heartbreaker, breeder Carlo Testa) is also developing positively under Emilio Bicocchi. On August 25, they took fourth prize in the 1.50m against the clock at CSI3* Valence. Another Foal Auction Prinsjesdag reference showed a strong showing at the same competition. The Colman son Baron (ds.Numero Uno, breeder Stoeterij 't Heemskind) jumped clear with Roberto Turchetto to fifth place in the 1.50m in Valence. The mare previously successful under Charlotte Bettendorff now performs with Richard Howley. In the Grand Prix of CSI2* Zandhoven, their double clear round led to second place, after they had already finished third in the classic 1.45m at CSI3* Dinard at the beginning of August.

O'Pleasure Ice headpiece of successful Prinsjesdag auction in Ommen

The second edition of the Prinsjesdag foal auction during the CSI in Ommen can be remembered as very successful. The For Pleasure son O'Pleasure Ice was the auction topper with € 19,000 and the good prices across the board were also remarkable. The breeders were not only very satisfied with the average price of € 12,500, but all foals were actually sold for a price of at least € 10,000.

Between the basic round of the Medium Tour final and the winning round, ten exclusive show jumping talents came under the hammer of the enthusiastic auctioneer Koen Olaerts. The interesting foals were bid from all corners, which ensured a smooth and transparent auction.

Top riders

“We can't help but be very satisfied with an auction like this! When we came up with this idea two years ago, we hoped for a course like tonight. So we are very happy that we have already been able to realize this during the second edition”, reacts chairman Arjan van der Waaij. Not only people from the sport were successful, Jeroen Dubbeldam got the interesting filly Tina van de Bisschop (by Opium JW van de Moerhoeve) from Tom de Craene in his fingers, loyal buyers of Foal Auction Prinsjesdag also traveled to this extra edition. in Ommen. Paul Schockemöhle caught his eye at auction topper O'Pleasure Ice (s.For Pleasure) from breeder Ton van Tilburg, and this colt leaves for Germany for €19,000. The genetically high-quality filly Oklahoma Paulowna (s.Poker de Mariposa) from breeder Ans Keppel remains in the Netherlands for €17,000, while Ti Amo AEG (s.Diamant de Semilly) from Joris Aegten has been given new owners in Finland for €15,000. “Several foals have been sold to sport stables at home and abroad. All foals have been sold and we have received very positive feedback from the breeders, so we are looking forward to the auctions on 17 and 18 September in Ermelo!”

Foal Auction Prinsjesdag uses commission agents scheme

It is increasingly common for foreign buyers in particular to be represented by a commission agent. This has also not gone unnoticed by Foal Auction Prinsjesdag and that is why they can claim a commission from this year.

The commission agent arrangement applies to the Prinsjesdag auctions on August 3 in Ommen and September 17 and 18 in Ermelo. Brokers who purchase a foal for a customer can claim a commission from a certain amount. There are of course some rules attached to this. For example, it is important that the commission agent indicates in writing to the secretariat prior to the auction that he or she is acting for one or more bidders/buyers. When the foal in the auction is awarded to the commission agent and he or she has signed the purchase contract, the commission agent for Foal Auction Prinsjesdag is equal to the buyer. With all the obligations that entails. This makes the commissionaire responsible for a correct financial settlement and then he or she will be able to claim the commission after delivery of the foal. Full terms and conditions can be found on our website.

Bid in multiple ways

Every year a significant part of the foals of Foal Auction Prinsjesdag are bought by foreign buyers. Just like the Dutch buyers, they can bid by telephone, online and at the auction itself. Do you act as a commission agent for someone at our auctions? Then report to the organization in good time.

Prinsjesdag references perform at CHIO Aachen!

Twice Prinsjesdag in top 5 Aachen

This week one of the world's most beautiful competitions is on the program and at this CHIO Aachen Foal Auction Prinsjesdag reference Gaudi Vita (Apache x Welt Hit II, breeder Heleen Broos) immediately delivered a top performance with Joyce Heuitink by finishing second in the Small Tour with a percentage of 72.5. Under Kristin Biermann, Zwetcher (Sir Sinclair x Jetset-D, breeder Dineke van Norel-Prins), sold through Foal Auction Prinsjesdag in 2004, also put his best foot forward in this Prix St. Georges class, and was rewarded with fifth place and a score of over 70 percent.

In addition, various other ambassadors of this auction have performed well. VDL Groep Elexia (Calvaro Z x Alexis Z, breeder Frank van Eijkelenburg) won a 1.45m class with Leopold van Asten at CSI5*-GCT Chantilly and Gintura (Zirocco Blue VDL x Corland, breeder CAF Toonders) with Ruben Romp even twice unbeatable in the 1.30m against CSI2* Knokke.

Save the date: August 3 in Ommen

On Saturday 3 August, ten exclusive jumping foals will be auctioned by Koen Olaerts in the second edition of Foal Auction Prinsjesdag at CSI3* Ommen. Last year it turned out that the competition at the Schuttert family offers a wonderful stage for the carefully bred and selected future talents. Several riders already invested in the future during the first edition.

“You see auctions of embryos and even frozen embryos everywhere. There is a huge run on genetically high-quality foals, and that is of course the market that Foal Auction Prinsjesdag focuses on. For many riders, and breeders, buying a foal is the ideal and sometimes only way to ensure a promising show jumper. The advantage of buying a foal compared to an embryo is that you can select much closer to your goal. You not only know the pedigree, but also the sex, the development, the canter, the model, and so on”, selector Fred van Straaten is enthusiastic. “We are very pleased with the foals that are part of the Ommen collection. The collection includes very interesting colts for sport and breeding, as well as genetically top interesting fillies that, in addition to a sports career, can also be used to build a new stock.”

Collection online

On our website you can find everything about the ten foals, which descend from top sires such as Carthago, Diamant de Semilly and For Pleasure, as well as current sport stallions such as Don VHP Z, Breitling LS and Opium JW van de Moerhoeve.
