At the Prinsjesdag Foal Auction during CSI Houten, show jumping rider Kim Couwenberg purchased two foals: the stallion Valou W (by Balou du Reventon) and the mare Charisma-K van Kattenheye (by Chackfly PS). "The purchases were very spontaneous, but I'm thrilled with them," she says.

Kim Couwenberg was present in Houten with b Horses. b Horses had been established abroad for some time and now has its headquarters in the Netherlands. They currently have 52 horses in the Netherlands, one in Belgium, and two horses in the United States.

At b Horses, sport and trade go hand in hand. "We can keep horses longer, train them further, and compete them. We want to have the broadest possible market, from young horses to more advanced horses," says Kim.

Earlier in the evening of August 9th, during the Prinsjesdag Foal Auction at CSI Houten, b Horses had already purchased Arcotiqkey Z (by Aganix Du Seigneur). However, Kim purchased the foals Valou W and Charisma-K by Kattenheye entirely for herself. "We already have so many horses and foals with the company. But I'd never bought a foal for myself before. This purchase wasn't even on my mind, but when I saw Valou W, I was sold. I'd already spent some time in his stable before the auction started."

For both foals, the overall picture was decisive for Couwenberg. "They're both attractive foals with excellent pedigrees. I haven't owned a horse for 27 years, so I think this is a really nice development. Fortunately, they were still able to be reared."

Training young horses from foal is Couwenberg's favorite activity. "I really love young horses. And the beauty of having a horse from foal is that you also have a very transparent story to tell a potential buyer in the future."

Next Tuesday, on Prinsjesdag (Prince's Day), the fourth foal auction of the Prinsjesdag Foal Auction will take place in Ermelo.
