Foal auction Prinsjesdag presents exclusive collection of show jumping foals during CSI Houten
For the second year in a row, an exclusive edition of the Prinsjesdag Foal Auction will take place during the CSI Houten international show. On Saturday evening, August 9th, thirteen carefully selected show jumping foals will go under the hammer.
From today the complete collection can be admired online via www.veulenveilingprinsjesdag.nl, with offspring of top stallions such as Diarado, Chacfly Z, Kashmir van Schuttershof, Untouched, Comthago VDL, Cavalier Russe Z, Heartbreaker, Balou du Reventon, Cassini Gold, Ultra Star JM, Emerald van 't Ruytershof, Akarad Hero Z and Chaccoon Blue.
Bringing sport and breeding together
The auction at CSI Houten provides a unique platform for breeders and buyers from the Netherlands and abroad, where they can come together in a sporty, international atmosphere. "Sport is paramount; ultimately, every breeder breeds for sport. By once again holding the auction during the international CSI Houten competition, we are bringing sport and breeding closer together, both literally and figuratively. The successful editions at CSI Houten and the Dutch Show Jumping Championships earlier this year underscore that this concept works," says chairman Arjan van der Waaij.
Strong influence of Usha van 't Roosakker
The collection consists of genetically very interesting foals, bred from proven dam lines and sires who have proven themselves internationally in sport or breeding. The influence of influential mares like Electra van 't Roosakker and Evita van 't Roosakker, and thus of the world-class mare Usha van 't Roosakker, is clearly visible. For example, the filly Delicious SJS (by Diarado) goes directly back to Electra van 't Roosakker, who performed at the 1.60m level under Jos Lansink and developed into a leading broodmare. Charisma-K van Kattenheye (by Chacfly Z) is also related to this line through her dam Elektra Hero Z, and Clever as Ever L3B (by Kashmir van Schuttershof) is even a grandson of this breeding legend. Ulrike van 't Gebergte Z (by Untouched) carries the blood of Evita van 't Roosakker through her grandmother Josphine van de Bisschop, who jumped at 1.45m level herself and produced several 1.50m and 1.55m offspring.

Other foals in the collection also stand out for their proven pedigree. The mare Venice Gold Reuvekamps (by Cassini Gold) goes back, through her granddam, to none other than the world-class sire Chacco-Blue. Coco Chanel van 't Meulenhof (by Cavalier Russe Z) is out of the half-sister of Emerald, Nixon, and Diamanthina van 't Ruytershof. Very Promising Leva WD (by Comthago VDL) is out of the half-sister of Hernandez TN. Clark VD Bisschop is a direct son of Heartbreaker, from a proven lineage that produced, among others, the 1.55m horse Quinci vd Bisschop. Valou W (by Balou du Reventon), his granddam, is the half-sister of the proven 1.60m stallion Colorado, and she also produced the 1.60m horse Vance (by Namelus R).
