World-famous damlines of Usha van ‘t Roosakker and Van ‘t Merelsnest represented in Prinsjesdag-collection

The selection committee of Foal Auction Prinsjesdag has driven all through Europe to find and select the best jumping and dressage foals for the auction on Tuesday the 13th and Wednesday the 14th of September. Even foals out of the famous and popular damlines of Usha van ‘t Roosakker and McLain Ward’s former Olympic mount Sapphire – also known as the Van ‘t Merelsnest damline – were included in this year’s jumping collection.

Out of the damline of the world-famous Usha van ‘t Roosakker two colts will be auctioned on Tuesday the 13th of September: Quantum van den Bisschop (Untouched x Elvis ter Putte) and Quando van den Bisschop (Harley VDL x Stakkato).

Quantum van den Bisschop is one of the rare descendants of the recently sadly deceased stallion Untouched – at the age of 9 already one of world’s most talented showjumpers, ridden by Ben Maher. In addition, Quantum was bred out of the young, promising mare Mevita van den Bisschop – the half-sister to international showjumpers as Josephine van den Bisschop (Alberto Zorzi), Isaac van den Bisschop (Hansueli Sprunger) and Jackson van den Bisschop (Sabrina van Rijswijk). Great-granddam Evita van ‘t Roosakker is a daughter of the acclaimed Usha van ‘t Roosakker and the full-sister to Equador van ‘t Roosakker (Frédéric David) and Emperio van ‘t Roosakker (Alexandra Crown) and the half-sister to the world-famous Cella (Ben Maher) and the promising stallion George Z.

Quando van den Bisschop’s Mandy van den Bisschop is a daughter of Josephine van den Bisschop, who at the age of 7 already competes at international level with Stal Tops’ jockey Alberto Zorzi. Quando’s great-granddam is again Evita van ‘t Roosakker, sired by Nabab de Rêve out of Usha van ‘t Roosakker.

The colts Qiono van ‘t Merelsnest (Kannan x Nabab de Rêve) and Quizano van ’t Merelsnest (Diamant de Semilly x Kannan) are this year’s representatives of the exceptional damline of Sapphire (McLain Ward) and Glasgow van ‘t Merelsnest (Jur Vrieling).

Qionno van ‘t Merelsnest was bred out of the talented mare Latina van ‘t Merelsnest. Through granddam Indi Blue-W van ‘t Merelsnest, Qionno’s pedigree leads back to Wendeline van ‘t Merelsnest – who competed at 1.50m level herself and who is the full-sister to McLain Ward’s Sapphire. In addition, Wendeline already produced the Nations Cup showjumper and approved stallion Glasgow van ‘t Merelsnest and the stallion Edjaz van ‘t Merelsnest (Ward De Bie).

Quizano van ‘t Merelsnest has got a pedigree to dream of, with Diamant de Semilly, Kannan, Mr. Blue, Lord Z and Darco all in a row. Finally, Quizano’s pedigree leads back to the same damline as two time Olympic gold medalist Sapphire.
