About Pinot Noir
Pinot Noir has an active canter with a lot of balance and trots with a lot of suppleness, with a striking front and a beautiful technique in both the front leg and hind leg. Dam Wurona has been a finalist of the Pavo Cup twice and is already delivering the third foal for Foal Auction Prinsjesdag. Her 5-year-old Jazz son is in training with one of Germany’s leading riders Dorothee Schneider. Wurona herself competed at Z2 level, just like her full sister Vurona; dam of the approved stallions Blue Hors First Choice and High Five U.S. Granddam Murona produced the Grand Prix dressage horse Axel and four other Z horses. Thanks to her well-breeding daughters and granddaughters, Murona is the granddam of the Grand Prix horse Zegerwaard and she is the great-granddam of the approved stallion and KWPN Performance Test top-scorer Knock Out. This well-known Urona line also produced the Grand Prix horses Markant and Nurona. Sire Painted Black was awarded ‘Preferent’ by the KWPN thanks to his well-performing offspring. Painted Black already produced over twenty horses who have been competing at the highest level – just like he did himself. Like Negro, Painted Black’s dam Litchy is a descendant of the foundation sire Ferro. This seems to be the explanation of Pinot Noir’s strong hind leg and beautiful posture.
