Prinsjesdag partner: Havens Horsefeed

Over the years Foal Auction Prinsjesdag has not only built up a large network of buyers and breeders, but also entered into a successful alliance with a select group of business partners. One of these partners is Havens Horsefeed. This Dutch-based company sells their horsefeed all over the world.

The assortment consists of a range of cubes, mixes and mueslis. From breeding mares and recreation horses to Grand Prix horses, Havens composes equestrian nutrition for every type of horse. They strive for the highest possible quality. Therefore top riders choose for the company. Havens is sponsor of Olympic riders such as Jeroen Dubbeldam and Adelinde Cornelissen. In addition, they are food suppliers for the prestigious international top competition CHIO Aachen (DE).

Bart Minten is sales manager and has been working for Havens Paardenvoeders for over 25 years. “Products for (top)sport performances play an important role within the company, but everything starts at the base; the breeding. We have special cubes for pregnant and lactating mares and feed for foals and young horses up to 18 months. With this we provide them with all the necessary nutrients for the best possible start.”

Fixed value in horse world

Havens was founded in 1845 in the Netherlands and operates worldwide in 55 countries. Remarkable is that all these countries are served from a single production location. “All of our equine nutrition that’s sold all over the world is produced in the Netherlands. This way we can guarantee the quality of our feed. Because the factory is next to the river Maas, the supply of materials is very efficient.”

For his position, Bart stays in contact with international clients, and stables and riders with whom the company has a partnership. The choice to become a partner at Foal Auction Prinsjesdag was easy for him. “We operate worldwide with our company and because the auction has an international character our partnership is a good fit. I speak to many of our clients at the auction.”
