Prinsjesdag makes commission arrangement transparent

It is increasingly common, for foreign buyers in particular, to be represented by a commission agent. That’s also the case at Foal Auction Prinsjesdag and therefore the organisation makes an arrangement with these agents from this year. It applies to the Prinsjesdag auctions on the 3rd of August in Ommen and the 17th and 18th of September in Ermelo.

Agents who purchase a foal for a customer can claim a commission, when the foals are sold for a certain price. There are of course some rules attached to this. For example, it is important that the commission agent indicates in writing, before the start of the auction, that he or she is bidding for one or more buyers. When a is sold to a commission agent and he or she signes the purchase contract. For Foal Auction Prinsjesdag the commission agent is then equivalent to the buyer, with all its obligations. That makes the commission agent responsible for a correct financial settlement. After dekivery of the foal the agent will be able to claim the commision. Bidding in multiple ways

Every year, a significant part of the foals from the Foal Auction Prinsjesdag are purchased by foreign buyers. Just like the Dutch buyers, they can bid by telephone, online and in the auction. Are you acting as a commission agent for a bidder or buyer at our auctions? Please let us know before the auction begins.
