The second edition of the Prinsjesdag foal auction during CSI Ommen was very successful. The For Pleasure son O’Pleasure Ice was the auction topper with € 19,000 and, in addition, good prices were paid for all foals. Not only did the average price of € 12,500 pleases the breeders very much, all foals were actually sold for a price of at least € 10,000.

In between the first round of the Medium Tour final and the winning round, ten exclusive jumping talents were auctioned by enthusiastic auctioneer Koen Olaerts. People were bidding from all angles for the interesting foals and that ensured a nice and transparent auction.

“With such an auction, we can only be very satisfied! When we came up with this idea two years ago we were hoping for an auction like tonight. So we are very happy that we have already been able to realize this during the second edition”, says chairman Arjan van der Waaij. Not only people from the sport took their chance, like Olympic rider Jeroen Dubbeldam purchased the interesting filly Tina van de Bisschop (s.Opium JW van de Moerhoeve) from breeder Tom de Craene, also loyal buyers of Foal Auction Prinsjesdag have traveled to Ommen for this extra auction edition. Paul Schockemöhle laid his eyes on auction topper O’Pleasure Ice (s.For Pleasure) from breeder Ton van Tilburg and therefore this colt goes for € 19,000 to Germany. For € 17,000, the genetically high-quality filly Oklahoma Paulowna (s.Poker de Mariposa) from breeder Ans Keppel in the Netherlands, while Ti Amo AEG (by Diamond de Semilly) from Joris Aegten has new owners from Finland for € 15,000. “Various foals were sold to sports stables at home and abroad. The great thing is that all ten foals are really sold and we have received very positive reactions from the breeders. So we look forward to the auctions on 17 and 18 September in Ermelo!”
