During the dressage auction of Foal Auction Prinsjesdag on 12 September, the opening piece is an exclusive, personal work of art. Created by Astrid Thomas of ResinArt.
ResinArt is a young company that combines artistic creativity and photography with gloss and deepening of synthetic resin.
Proceeds to Parapaard
The proceeds of the opening piece will benefit ParaPaard. This is part of the Disabled Sports Fund and is committed to recruiting (financial) resources in order to support associations and organizations that offer customized equestrian activities to people with disabilities. By supporting them, ParaPaard wants to ensure that adapted riding is made and kept accessible.
ResinArt originated from an uncovered passion for synthetic resin
Synthetic resin (or epoxy) is a two component resin that can perfectly be described as ‘liquid glass’. Where a photo on acrylic actually fixes the photo behind an acrylic plate, the High Gloss Epoxy is poured over the photo and forms to the object. This ensures a nicer color intensity and a beautiful depth effect. The special thing about epoxy is that various materials can be applied between the various layers. You can think of Swarovski or gold leaf, but also real flowers or even the mane of a horse can be incorporated in a photo panel, creating a beautiful 3d effect.
The piece of art to be auctioned is tailor-made for the highest bidder. The format of the artwork offered is 50 by 70, but of course custom work also belong to the options. The offered photo will be made by Fleur Louwe. This talented young photographer has been nominated for a Dutch Photograph Talent Award 2019.
