Bonne Chance CW and Janika Sprunger will not participate in Olympic finals due regulations

Although Bonne Chance CW and Janika Sprunger qualified for the Olympic individual finals in Rio de Janeiro, the Swiss pair is not allowed to compete. Regulations say that only three riders per country may start in the individual finals and since all four Swiss riders finished on 9 penalties, Chef d’Equipe Andy Kistler had to decide.

“With a great round Bonnie and me are finishing this Olympic Games 2016 in Rio”, Janika Sprunger states. “I wished so much to get a spot in Friday’s individual Final – for Kompi and for all the people supporting and believing in us! This was my biggest dream, my biggest goal. All of us Swiss riders were on a standing of 9 points and a pre decision had to be taken by Andy Kistler to choose the three Swiss riders going into the Final. This didn’t include Bonnie and me. A very hard moment for us as Bonnie and me really deserved a chance on Friday, but so do the others!”
